Baby Cat naps under the futon in my office. That is the direct path for the heat to leave the vent and make its way into the rest of the room. It's as though she is sleeping inside a dryer vent. The underside of the futon, when in sofa mode, is pitched such that she cannot be both on her tuffet and completely under the futon. It's an either/or situation. Hence, her toes stick out at funny kitty angles.
